CONGRATULATIONS DUDE!!! KEEP IT UP

This post is dedicated to Magix.

Good man you are going places with your blogging. First you were on the top 100 list. Now in the second page of HINDU. Way to go. Keep it up. May your blogging reach amazing heights so that you dont have to bother about el.ckts for the rest of your life.

I'm so proud that I know magix as a good friend. I was on the plane to Delhi this morning and I didnt get the paper till 9 in the morning. When I got hold of the paper( finally.. coz the guy sitting next to us was not ready to give up the paper at all. He was reading every single word in the financial sec of de paper.) my eyes popped out the way yours had (when u saw that choco tub). I was screaming at the top of my voice that I knew this guy who's name and post had come in the second page of the paper. Ten thousand feet above the ground... I was going gaga as if my name and article had come out on de paper.

Really magix I owe u a big thanks for introducing me to this awesome world of blogging. Once u get out of your aversion to chocolate I'l get you a biiiiiig one at Boomerang. Once again keep it going dude.

Right now I'm in Delhi. So will be back in a week with my experinces here. And as for the music review of Paheli, forget it. Its reaally good and will review it after coming back home.

Parineeta--Awesome Album

Hello people!!! Returning to active blogging after quite a loong time.. Actually had my exams. So, lets get blogging.
I recently got this album "Parineeta".. which is a period film. Its stars Saif, Sanjay Dutt and a new female in the female lead. She's the one who features in Euphoria's "Kabhi Aana Tu Meri Gali" video.
Let me tell u whatever I know about the movie. It is set in Kolkotta and must be sometime around the 50's. Its an adaptation of a novel by Sarat Chandra Chattopadyay..The same guy who wrote Devdas. The movie is directed by Pradeep Sarkar. Though the best part may be "yet to come".. trust me the music is reallly good.

The music has been scored by Shantanu Moitara. Out of the six numbers in the album three have been sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Goshal.

1. Piyu bole
(Sonu Nigam & Shreya Goshal)

The album starts with this soft number rendered beautifully by Sonu and Shreya. The first two lines have been done by Saif himself. Its pictured with Saif on the piano and the female lead beside him.. singing obviously.... A very good number and one likes it from the first time he/she listens to it.

2.Kasto Mazaa
(Sonu Nigam & Chrous)

This is a fastpaced song, pictured on Saif in a train. The chrous is by a group of Buddhist looking kids. It is expected that this song will do to Saif what "Mere Sapnon Ki rani" did to his mom. The lines go like this:

Ye hawaein...Gungunaye...
Pooche Tu hai kahan....
Tu hai phoolon mein kaliyon mein...
Ya mere khwabon ki galiyon mein..

Kasto Maza are the starting words of the chorus.
This song is right now beong shown on trailers.. So try to catch it.

3.Chand Hamari Tho
(Chitra and Swanand)

After a long gap we get to hear owr own "Chinna Kuyil". This is a sad or should i say sober number. The male voice just comes for the first one minute after that its all Chitra. It is again a melody mixed up in right propotions with meloncholy.

Sample this:
Raat hamari tho....
Chaan ki saheli hai....
Kitne dinon ke baad...
Aayi woh akeli hai...

Never before has some one given such a cute explanation for new moon. The side ends with this haunting tune...

SIDE B
4. Ajeeb Zindagani
(Sunidhi Chauhan)

This is a semi soft number, intended to be a club/bar song of the 50's. Sunidhi has done well in the song and its got a few witty lines too. Not much to say about it since its a kinda short song. There's more of instrumental and that has been done as well.

5.Soona Man Ka Aangan
(Sonu Nigam & Shreya Goshal)

Now its time for Saif's turn to mourn his rift with his girl. So this song comes up. Its got reallly good lines and music is also really nice.. Sonu shows us that he can do sad numbers equally well.
A bit of jingle comes in the middle. It goes like this

Phool Phool Bhavra Dole......
Man mein rahe yehi baat....
Baagh mein papiha pooche....
Pihu pihu piyu kahan....

These lines have been sung by Shreya. At a point both of sing together... Thats when you realise how good they sound together.

6. Dinak Dinak Dha
(Rita Ganguly and Chorus)
This is a marriage song where a old woman sits in the middle and starts singing about marital woes.. Its jingly and bubbly alrite but dosent suit the mood of the listner right after Soona..
Anyways it ok...

7.Hui Mein Parineeta
Its a minute and half (approx) rendition by Sonu and Shreya. It is set on the same tune as the first song.. and has all those naughty noises....(u know what i mean......)

Here ends the album......
Kudos to Shantanu for this excellent job. Just hoping thatthe movie is good as well. LEtme know for sure what u thinkabout this post and the music. U can hear it online at

www.parineetathefilm.com.
Alternatively just go to google and type Parineeta.

PS: Coming up next...Music Review of Paheli. Tell me if i should do that too....

Adios...

What should I write about??

No, I not that I've blogged about soo many things that I've run out of ideas. Just that I have too many things to blog about. There is this collge quiz in which I came second (losing only to Mr. Viking). I've shifted my residence recently and the whole event was sooo filled with so many hlarious happenings that I'll be ROTFL even as I blog about it. There is this Blitzkreig quiz which we won amidst high drama. OK i know thats just three and I can blog about it in no time. But wat happened yesterday was so heart breaking that I've lost my mood.

I had written a fairly decent account of our college quiz and b4 I could click Publish Post, something happened and the entire thing vanished into thin air. (I think after swallowing that big post, even air would have become a bit thicker. LOL Yeah that was reaalllly big.)

So please be patient. I will come up with something good if not better asap.
Thankx for dropping in and hearing me sniff.

Lecture anyone??

This has been happening for a loooong time in our class. Today, it was at its best. Ok no points for guessing, that its the moooooost boooooring lecture of our current semester.Well, its not that the person delivering the lecture (I prefer not to either name the person or disclose his designation. Ok by now u would have guessed that its someone important.), lemme call him/ PD, is stupid or dosen't know much about his subject like most of his collegues. Its in fact the opposite. He knows a lot about his subject and thats his problem.

Let me describe how the class looks generally during his class. Usually, one group of people are busy messaging their near and DEAR ones, another group, whose members don't have a mob,are passing notes, another group is busy playing completing pending notes, observations, records etc,,,and the majority,as always is sleeping blisfully.....unaware of the PD's non-stop droning.

PD has gotten on everbody's nerves within two months. Coming to the class right on time, starting to fill up the board even before the sleepy class has even noticed his presence and worst of all not spending even two minutes on the mandatory attendence ritual during his class.(He borrows two minutes from the next class to get the roll nos. of those who are missing.)

Ok I've digressed toooooo much. Let me come to today's class. As usual, the aforementioned rituals happened, on both parts, us and his. Believe me, in the rest of the subjects we are doing the third chapter but he has completed five and a half!!!!! None of us was interested in today's lecture(another as usual.). I didn't have anything to write, a mobile to message anyone and the female next to me was busy. So, deriving inspiration from one of the blog's I read yesterday, I tried to make a spoof of a nursery rhyme,The one that instantly flashed on my mind was "Jack and Jill". But since its not very nice, I prefer not to share it.

Then I set my mind to work again, this time on a haiku. But then, again I didnt come up with a nice one.(In the sense it didnt make any sense.) Really bored to the core, I was making silly caricatures on my book. Suddenly, the one sitting before me turned and asked, "What is your plan for the weekend??" A very good question. considering the fact that today's just Wednesday. I replied with a devilish grin on my face," To invent a remote control which will fast fwd PD's class and run weekends as slowly as possible." The poor thing couldn't control herself for this average joke and strating grinning and slowly the grin turned in to a silent laugh as the news spread.

Mr.PD too noticed this. So he quietly requested(?!! LOL) us not to distract him, as he was losing his flow of words. At this the whole class burst laughing at him and he went red. (With anger or embarassment, u decide.) Thankfully, the hour came to an end and he hurriedly left the class. After he left we again had a hearty laugh and there were people trying to sponsor my brainwave and even patent it!!!
He he he he!!!
PS: A looong post. Hope it was not boring.
